I am retired teacher of French and German in secondary schools. During my career I spent two separate years in Germany, teaching English in a secondary school and then a \"trades\" school for young adults. I also taught in language schools during a few summer holidays, and did home tuition, preparing pupils for the entrance examination to the grammar school - Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Mathematics and English.

 

I am now in Georgetown in Penang and aim to stay for 12 months until at least this time next year. I am a retired teacher of French and German and English as a second language. However, I would very much like to make my expertise and knowledge available for students to improve their language skills. I am particularly interested in the teaching of English, since it is clearly a popular language to learn for various reasons. I believe strongly that the way a language is taught should be similar to the way one learnt one's mother tongue - i.e. listening, speaking, reading and finally writing. I can also be of assistance to those who are about to leave school / college / university and embark on a career. I can help with resumes as well as introductory letters and interview technique.
